Weatherford Whiskers Rescue

Weatherford Whiskers is a cage-free cat rescue dedicated to the welfare and adoption of felines in Parker County. We are not a veterinary facility; through partnerships with licensed veterinarians, we ensure every cat and kitten receives the medical support they need. Thanks to generous donations, our facility houses five spacious cat rooms, and alongside our network of foster homes, we care for nearly 200 cats at any given time.

Trap-Neuter-Vaccinated-Return (TNvR)

In collaboration with Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelters Whisker Wednesday campaign to TNvR up to 100 cats on the last Wednesday of each month we lend humane traps to capture cats and kittens for participation in the program. Our volunteers assist on the day helping throughout the process. We also loan traps for the TCAP feral TNvR program. By vaccinating and altering community cats, we help ethically reduce feral and free-roaming populations.

Pet Food Pantry

Our on-site pet food pantry supports pet owners experiencing financial hardship by providing free cat and dog food donated by the community. This resource helps families continue caring for their companion animals during challenging times.

Wounded Warriors Initiative

When local shelters identify cats with urgent medical needs beyond their capacity, they refer these cases to Weatherford Whiskers. We then coordinate and fund all necessary treatments—ranging from diagnostics to surgeries—through our network of veterinary professionals.

Bottle Baby Program

Our most vulnerable kittens often require around-the-clock care and specialized nutrition. Dedicated volunteers rescue these neonatal kittens and manage their feeding schedules, relying entirely on donations to cover the cost of milk replacer and kitten formula.

Giving Activity

Mission

Weatherford Whiskers is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue. We rescue high risk cats from our local shelters. Once in rescue we place pets in experienced foster homes where they receive love, are socialized, given top notch vet care including vaccinations & are spayed/neutered, before being placed for adoption. In addition, our highly trained volunteers can also assist with Trap/Neuter/Return of feral cats to their colonies.

Needs

$5: Provides a vaccination for a kitten in need

$10: Funds a microchip for lifelong identification and is essential for reuniting lost pets

$25: Provides food for one cat for a month

$50: Funds a spay or neuter surgery for a cat in need

$100: Provides supplies for one adult cat to stay in temporary foster care

$500: Helps fund our Wounded Whiskers Project

$1500: Funds an incubator for our at risk kitten population

Equity Statement

At our cat shelter, we believe that every cat deserves a loving home. We welcome anyone who is interested in adopting, as long as it's the right fit for both the cat and the adopter. Our goal is to ensure that each adoption is a perfect match, creating a happy and lasting bond.
