In our first year as a rescue, and with your help, Weatherford Wags was able to save over 450 unwanted shelter dogs, ultimately finding them great homes. Donations allowed us to take in and treat over 50 heartworm-positive dogs as well as to provide several serious medical surgeries. We have partnered with a national dog food company who is providing high-quality refrigerated dog food for our foster dogs. And, we have partnered with other vetted nonprofit rescues to transport dogs out of state to their new homes, expanding our ability to save more lives. With your continued donations, we will expand and help even more dogs and connect more members of the community with their right doggy companion.
The purpose of Weatherford Wags is to rescue abandoned and shelter dogs, providing food, medical care, foster homes and protection from abuse, until they can find their forever homes.
Dog food; treats; crates; blankets; toys; boarding, funds for medical treatment as needed, especially heart worm treatment; funds for maintenance such as heartworm prevention; annual vaccines or donations of heartworm and flea/tick preventative meds; funds or donations for professional trainers as needed.
Weatherford Wags appreciates the diversity in our community and country and is committed to treating all people equally and with respect. We welcome and encourage diversity in our volunteers, fosters, and adopters.
