Our Start ... and Our Impact

Founded in Nov 2022 with just $200 and a big dream, Weatherford Wags has grown into a lifeline for dogs in need. Since our beginning, we have saved over 819 dogs from death row to safe, loving forever homes across the United States and even into Canada.

What We Do

With the incredible support of the North Texas community, Weatherford Wags gives a second chance to dogs who need it most—providing life-saving medical treatments and surgeries as well as investing in behavior training so that each dog can thrive. Fosters and adopters are carefully screened, and we continue to follow up with adopters to ensure both they and their dog have adjusted happily to their new home.

Why We Do It

The most rewarding part is witnessing the transformation—from frightened, unwanted dogs to joyful companions in their new homes. Every update, every thank-you from an adopter, reminds us why we do this work.

How You Help Make It Happen

Weatherford Wags is run by volunteers and overseen by our board of directors, and we operate through donations. Together with the unwavering generosity and compassion of our supporters, we are proving that every dog deserves a chance to show the world their true, kind soul.

Mission

The purpose of Weatherford Wags is to rescue abandoned and shelter dogs, providing food, medical care, foster homes and protection from abuse, until they can find their forever homes.

Needs

Dog food; treats; crates; blankets; toys; boarding, funds for medical treatment as needed, especially heart worm treatment; funds for maintenance such as heartworm prevention; annual vaccines or donations of heartworm and flea/tick preventative meds; funds or donations for professional trainers as needed.
