OUR MISSION
The mission of the Watering Hole Collective is to produce socially conscious art that engages, inspires, and cultivates conversation and action within our North Texas Community
- Socially Conscious Art (n): artistic works that address social, environmental, or cultural issues.
The heart of Watering Hole Collective is to create a space for artists—a “watering hole,” if you will—where they are given the resources, time, and support to create work that speaks to the world around us especially the North Texas Community.
THE WHC WAY
The Watering Hole Way is our organization’s value system. We strive to hold these values in everything we do.
At Watering Hole Collective We Are...
COLLABORATORS
We facilitate: We believe that offering talkbacks is essential to creating a sense of community with our audiences. Therefore, we facilitate discussions with a panel of experts for each of our projects, focusing on relevant causes.
We provide: We provide resource guides to all audience members, featuring useful information and links to local non-profit organizations.
INTENTIONAL
At WHC we advocate for the artist in our community. We ensure that all artists are paid competitive wages regardless of their union affiliations. We prioritize opportunities for local artists and nurture the artist community by building long term relationships with artists to ensure artistic growth.
EQUITABLE
WHC is committed to being an equitable organization that respects and honors all voices, upholding the values of community, equity, access, and belonging. We recognize that racism is deeply ingrained in American society, arts, and culture. We are dedicated to ensuring that the artists featured in our productions represent a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives.
INCLUSIVE
We offer tickets to our productions at discounted community rates and provide complimentary tickets to select community groups when available. This ensures that our events are accessible to all.
PROCESS-DRIVEN
We value process over product to keep both the artist and social cause at the forefront of our projects. This fosters creativity and intentionality.
We conduct a post-mortem for each project to facilitate growth and learning for all involved.
TRANSPARENT
WHC is committed to transparency. We maintain a public archive with a post-project report to ensure openness with the public. All reports are available on our website for viewing at any time.
