$30,000 Goal

Our Need

This year, our goal is to fully fund the Daniela and Sofia Mendoza Memorial Scholarship

On May 6, 2023, Daniela and Sofia Mendoza's lives were senselessly lost at the Allen Outlet shooting. They lived their short lives The Wylie Way and left a legacy of love and kindness that will continue with their families, friends, Cox Elementary, and throughout the Wylie community. Please join us in creating a lasting legacy for Daniela and Sofia Mendoza. Your tax-deductible contribution will help remember the beautiful way these girls lived to the fullest and establish the Daniela and Sofia Mendoza Scholarship Endowment which will support students in Wylie ISD.  To learn more about the scholarship, please go to https://bit.ly/Mendoza-endowment.

What We Do

Wylie ISD Education Foundation's primary purpose is to enhance education in the classroom. We do so by funding Grants for Teachers and supporting Scholarships For Seniors. Last year, we funded more than $100,000 in Grants for Teachers whose unique ideas improved learning for their students. Grants funded things like supporting mental health for all students, reading resources for struggling readers, equipment for robotic classes, math manipulatives, fine arts expansion and so much more!

With the help of our passionate community, Wylie ISD Education Foundation works closely with local businesses, service clubs, and individuals to provide scholarship awards each spring. This year, we awarded seniors roughly $60,000 to further their educational goals in college or trade school.

Ensuring our students come to school prepared to learn means joining resources with other entities. Wylie ISD Education Foundation commits a portion of our funds to provide for special initiatives that serve the needs of our students, including basic supplies such as backpacks, pencils, and tissues.
