Upbring is a Texas-based nonprofit on a mission to break the cycle of child abuse by empowering children, families, and communities. With a legacy dating back to 1881, we deliver innovative, life-restoring services across five key areas: safety, life skills, education, health, and vocation.

One of our most impactful programs is Foster In Texas (FIT), one of the state’s largest and most trusted child-placing agencies. FIT recruits, trains, licenses, and supports foster families who open their homes to children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or separation from their biological families. In both Dallas and Fort Worth, our local team works directly with families across North Texas to match foster parents with children of all ages and backgrounds. Whether a child needs short-term care, long-term placement, or is on the path to adoption, our focus remains the same: helping every child heal, grow, and thrive.

Our Dallas and Fort Worth area FIT services include:

  • Recruitment and Training: We guide prospective foster families through the licensing process with care, transparency, and personalized support.
  • Case Management: Our caseworkers provide consistent, compassionate guidance to families and children throughout their foster care journey.
  • 24/7 Support: We ensure families are never alone, offering round-the-clock assistance and access to mental health resources, therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Every aspect of our work is shaped by an understanding of trauma and resilience. We equip families to meet children’s emotional and behavioral needs through ongoing training and clinical support.
  • Community-Based Services: As part of a new, data-driven initiative in Dallas, we collaborate with local partners to target resources where children and families need them most—strengthening neighborhoods and improving long-term outcomes.

Whether you're looking for ways to support children in care, or simply want to learn more about our work in DFW, we invite you to be part of this transformative mission. At Upbring, we believe every child deserves a safe, loving home—and with the help of our Dallas community, we’re making that vision a reality.
