At United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, we have big dreams for Big D. But we don't just dream, we work together to improve access to education, income and health—the building blocks of opportunity.
For 100 years, we have united the community to create opportunity for all North Texans to thrive. We bring together passionate change-makers alongside corporate, civic and nonprofit partners to drive lasting, generational change.
Together with dedicated supporters like you, last year we improved the lives of more than 1.7 million North Texans, including:
As we celebrate our first century of service to our community and look ahead to the next 100 years, we invite you to join us in building a brighter future for all North Texans. Be part of this once-in-a-century opportunity to create a positive impact and together, we can drive lasting, measurable change.
Your contribution is a holistic community investment that will directly benefit all North Texans. Here are some of the many ways your dollars can help ensure that our neighbors have the opportunity to thrive:
Once Upon a Month: A $36 investment provides a child with 12 books a year, preparing them for school and early reading. Students who read on grade level by 3rd grade are 5x more likely to graduate ready for success in college or career.
Dollars for College: A $50 investment funds a child's college savings account, which can grow to nearly $500 by high school graduation. Children with a college savings account are 3x more likely to attend college and 4x more likely to graduate.
HOPES (Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support): An $88 monthly investment funds a local family’s involvement in HOPES, which equips parents with key skills and resources that reduce instances of child maltreatment and keep kids out of the foster care system.
Pathways to Work: A $250 investment in career training materials helps a person get certified for a job that earns $6,300 more per year.
Digital Bridges: A $275 investment provides one family with a refurbished laptop, Microsoft Office and bilingual tech support, which ensures children have access to the technology they need to succeed in today’s digital world.
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas leads a movement to make North Texas the best place to live, work and raise a family. We envision a day when every high school graduate is fully prepared for success in college or career, every adult can achieve financial stability, and every individual has the resources to live a longer, healthier life.
