$60,000 Goal

This year, your gift matters more than ever.

Demand for our services is surging and is up across the board from this time last year:

  • Medical accompaniments are up +29%

  • Forensic exams are up +43%

  • Law enforcement accompaniments are up +129%

  • Advocacy services are up +168%

Each increase represents real survivors who need care — and we cannot turn them away.  We are facing an almost $500,000 revenue shortfall that threatens our ability to keep these services available when they’re needed most.

To meet this urgent moment, our goal is to raise $60,000 by North Texas Giving Day.

Thanks to the Edge Family Fund’s $25,000 matching challenge, every dollar you give right now will be doubled.

Your gift this North Texas Giving Day makes all the difference. Together, we can continue this life-changing work.

Mission

The mission of The Turning Point is to provide counseling, education, and advocacy for those impacted by sexual violence. Our vision is to deliver the highest quality of comprehensive services for survivors and promote social change to end all forms of sexual violence. All services provided by The Turning Point are free.

In November of 2018, TTP opened Courtney’s SAFE Place, the first and only forensic clinic in North Texas, (one of three in the entire state of Texas) providing survivors with access to free services, including a forensic exam, in a survivor-centered safe haven rather than a hospital ER.

Needs

Your gifts, both large and small, will help us to achieve our mission of helping those impacted by sexual violence.

$50 helps provide a survivor with a sexual assault exam

$200 helps provide 2 hours of individual counseling

$300 helps medical advocate during a 3-hour forensic exam

$500 helps provide a community awareness violence prevention workshop series

$1000 helps provide 6 months of 24/7 crisis intervention on the crisis hotline
