— Who We Are
True Vine Mission is a faith-based nonprofit school being created in Celina, Texas, for nonspeaking and minimally speaking students whose intelligence and potential are too often underestimated.
We believe that the inability to speak does not mean the inability to think, learn, connect, or contribute. Our mission is to provide an academically rigorous, Christ-centered education where every student is presumed competent and given meaningful ways to communicate through spelling, typing, eye gaze, and other individualized supports.
True Vine will combine age-respectful academics and biblical instruction with the motor, sensory, and therapeutic support our students need to access learning. Our vision includes highly trained communication partners, individualized instruction, occupational and physical supports, music and art, movement and regulation activities, and opportunities for students to develop greater independence, confidence, and purpose.
For many families, appropriate educational options simply do not exist. Parents are often forced to choose between programs that address behavior without providing rigorous academics and academic settings that are not equipped to support their child’s communication and motor needs. True Vine Mission is being built to close that gap.
— Our Model- The Spellers Method
The Spellers Method uses three components: Communication partner coaching, Vision and Ocular-Motor, and Intentional Movement to build an individualized roadmap toward fluent communication for each student.
That roadmap starts from a student's very first spelling session and moves toward whatever goal they define for themselves. For some students, that goal is open, flexible communication using a stencil. For others, it's full independence: typing on their own, without a trained partner holding or stabilizing the keyboard.
Your North Texas Giving Day gift will help us launch our pilot program, train and hire specialized staff, obtain communication and educational materials, and prepare a safe, welcoming learning environment for our first students.
Together, we can create a school where nonspeaking students are heard, challenged, loved, and empowered to flourish.
“I am the vine; you are the branches.” — John 15:5
True Vine Mission provides a Christ-centered, academically rigorous education and enrichment for nonspeaking and minimally speaking students. By presuming competence and supporting communication through The Spellers Method. We empower every student to be heard, grow in faith, and reach their God-given potential.
Nonspeaking and minimally speaking students in North Texas have few educational options that provide rigorous academics while supporting their unique communication, sensory, and motor needs. Many families must piece together costly services or travel long distances to find appropriate instruction, therapies, and enrichment.
True Vine Mission needs funding to launch our pilot program, hire and train specialized staff, purchase communication and educational materials, provide enrichment and therapeutic supports, and secure an accessible learning environment.
A central part of our long-term vision is purchasing land adjacent to Cornerstone Ranch, our community partner. This location would allow our organizations to share resources and create a purposeful pathway for students as they transition from school into a supportive adult community with opportunities for continued growth, meaningful relationships, service, and belonging.
Community support will help us build this lifelong continuum of education and opportunity while making our programs accessible to families regardless of their financial circumstances.
True Vine Mission is a Christ-centered learning community committed to treating every individual with dignity, respect, compassion, and presumed competence.
True Vine Mission does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, or disability in the administration of its programs and services, in accordance with applicable law.
Our mission is to create a welcoming and supportive community where nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals are valued, supported, and given meaningful opportunities to communicate, learn, grow, and thrive.
At True Vine Mission, we believe every person is created with purpose, has a voice worth hearing, and deserves the opportunity to be known.
