About the Museum
The National Vietnam War Museum was established in 1998 to create a national space for learning about the Vietnam War era and engaging people of all backgrounds and perspectives. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1999, the museum is located on a 12-acre site in Mineral Wells, about 50 miles west of Fort Worth.
Guided by a Board of Directors and supported by a Board of Visitors and partnerships with veterans organizations, the museum is dedicated to telling an unbiased and comprehensive story of the Vietnam War. This includes the experiences of U.S. servicemen and women, civilian contractors, the Vietnamese people, and those on the home front.
Today, the campus features memorial gardens, historical artifacts, a Vietnam-era Huey helicopter display, CH-54 Sky crane, and a 20,000-square-foot main exhibit building, serving as a place of reflection, education, and remembrance.
