Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) - Formerly Texas Nonprofit Theatres, has continued to provide services to live theatres, theatre artists and theatre adjacent organizations since 1971!
TNT is always in need of general funds. Our goal today is - $3,000 - one intern salary!
The TNT Multicultural Paid Summer Theatre Internship - now in its 30th year - gives college students an opportunity to spend their summer working at two theatres. Interns learn and understand the complexities and inner workings of running a theatre.
The program cost breakdown is below and includes administrative costs.
$12,000 - Internship Salaries - yes, our interns are paid a competition internship salary throughout the summer.
$2,000 - Marketing - we work with Texas colleges and universities to promote the application process.
$6,000 - Interviews and Training - the intern finalizes (up to 10 finalists) attend TEXFest to experience the professional development we offer attendees and are interviewed by their prospective theatres. This cost also includes the selected interns to receive required orientation and debriefing.
The internship program does cost TNT approximately $20,000 to run.
It is TNT's mission to promote high standards in theatre arts, provide professional training and development for individuals involved in theatre, promote the development of educational theatre, provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas by persons engaged in theatre, encourage the formation of new theatre groups and support established theatre organizations, and to provide information and advocacy for the needs of theatres in Texas within the limits of the law.
