The Warriors Keep

A nonprofit organization

Our goal in providing Outdoor Adventure Therapy for Heroes is to empower them to overcome certain difficulties many veterans face at home, such as: depression, anxiety, societal reintegration, military transition or stress brought on from a traumatic experience. These programs are open to veterans from all branches, regardless of age, sex or disability rating. Overall, 92% of our program participants experience an increase in quality of life, 88% notice a reduction in stress and 95% leave the program empowered with newfound confidence.

Over the last 5 years, we've been able to provide the veteran community with an outlet to heal through outdoor adventures! We've been honored to serve over 500 amazing warriors in that time and conquered some of the highest mountains in the US and World together as a team!

In 2019, we took the largest group of veterans to ever summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa and one of the Seven Summits.

In 2020, despite the pandemic, we took veterans to summit the tallest peaks in Texas, New Mexico & Colorado. While the pandemic was isolating for many, we continued to serve veterans locally by providing community hikes across north Texas.

This year, we competed in the worlds toughest adventure race, took 15 veterans to summit 3 different mountains in the US, led our first backpacking trip through the foothills of Arkansas, and launched our new Keep Camping program focused on taking veterans to different Texas State Parks.

Our Needs

In 2021, The Warriors Keep will continue to focus on our U.S, expedition series. We are highlighting many of the great state and national parks in the country that our warriors fought to protect. All expeditions are provided at ZERO cost for our veterans, regardless of service decade or disability status. We fly veterans out to expedition locations, have hiking and camping gear available unless they prefer to use their own, and provide all meals. If you know any veterans that could benefit from trips like this, please pass along our information!

Of course, we can not continue to support veterans with these free non traditional therapy opportunities without the support of our donors. All of the donations we receive go directly into programs and getting veterans outdoors and sharing the opportunity with more vets!

Mission

Our mission is to unite, empower and enhance the quality of life for Veterans with the use of Outdoor Adventure Therapy. We believe that sometimes the best medicine is connecting with nature and our fellow veterans through physical activity and peer relationships. Our programs provide Veterans with FREE guided access to outdoor activities, designed to educate and assist with the difficulties of reintegrating back to civilian life.

Equity Statement

The Warriors Keep is a military values-driven organization and are committed to reflecting those values in how we treat each other and work together. To that end, we support and accept veterans from all era's, regardless of combat experience, race, age, gender or military job.
