Recently relocated from Grapevine to Southlake, The Novus Academy is a K-12, non-profit school serving children with unique learning challenges. The Novus Academy is a creative, supportive, and inspirational school where students acquire skills and knowledge that allows them to confidently lead productive lives and become contributing members of the community. Students come to Novus when they are struggling to find success in a traditional school environment. Our students may have learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and depression - or may just need a place where they can grow, thrive, and be accepted for who they are.
In too many instances, students are required to fit a system or setting that does not truly address their specific needs and strengths. All students have individual needs, desires, and gifts. Novus recognizes the unique qualities of our students and helps them navigate through their difficulties - without becoming defined by them. We build upon each child’s strengths and help them develop the resilience and confidence to be the best version of themselves.
The Novus Academy provides a unique academic, executive functioning and social-emotional foundation for our elementary students. As students move into our middle school and high school programs, they begin to participate in dedicated coursework to refine their foundational skills and apply them in their daily lives. Our small student-to-teacher ratio, specialized staff and individualized curriculum set our students up for success each day.
The Novus Academy works with The Texas Workforce Commission in providing its upper school guidance and planning for their transition into adulthood. Early planning is key – and additional supports play an integral role in helping our high school students and families learn about the best-fitting post-secondary options for their individual situations. This helps students and parents prepare themselves for life and increased independence after graduating from Novus.
