The Texoma Behavioral Health Leadership Team (TBHLT), is a non-profit collective impact organization comprised of 30 community stakeholders in Northeast Texas from across all sectors—public and private—with a purpose to serve as a community hub seeking to find solutions to complex issues associated with mental illness and address gaps in mental health services.
The Texoma mental health care system is overwhelmed, under-resourced, and in need of systemic integration. Over the last ten-year period, the Texoma area has experienced steady population growth that is projected to be even more significant in the coming years. This growth has placed great strain on the region’s capacity to provide adequate services, programs, and support that addresses mental health and substance use issues. Among several other findings of a recent needs assessment initiated by the TBHLT was the excessive number of unnecessary cases occurring in the emergency room which could have been assisted more economically and successfully elsewhere within the mental health system.
TBHLT serves as the community's hub for mental health and wellness, seeking to breakdown barriers to mental well being through sustainable change.
