The Texas NF Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, adults, and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF) throughout the state of Texas.
Neurofibromatosis is a complex genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, often leading to physical, neurological, and emotional challenges. Despite being one of the most common rare genetic conditions, NF remains widely misunderstood.
At the Texas NF Foundation, we believe no one should face this journey alone. That’s why we provide year-round support through a wide range of programs and services, including patient and family events, educational workshops, awareness campaigns, and advocacy at both the state and national level. From hosting our Texas NF Family Camp to offering direct assistance for medical travel, we strive to create connection, inspire hope, and empower those living with NF.
With the support of donors, we continue to expand our reach and impact. Every gift- no matter the size- brings us one step closer to a stronger, more supported NF community in Texas.
NF Clinic Liaisons
Texas NF provides a Clinic Liaison at Children's Health Dallas, UTSW Medical Center and Cook Children's Hospital at no cost to the medical facilities and patients. Because the initial diagnosis or advancement of the disorder often leads to many questions and concerns, the Liaison is available to give patients and families additional time to offer more information, comfort and recommendations to community resources & social services. The Liaison allows the physicians to keep on schedule and maximize his/her services; providing the patients with the extra attention needed.
We also collaborate with each of the hospitals and provide quarterly support group meetings for patients. Patients develop supportive relationships, discuss relevant issues and build self-confidence.
