Every day, injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife across North Texas fight for survival. We are often their only chance for survival.
Every year, thousands of wild animals are injured, orphaned, or displaced due to storms, habitat loss, vehicle strikes, and human activity. When concerned citizens find these animals, Texas Metro Wildlife Rehabilitators are often the first responders.
Our dedicated volunteer rehabilitators work around the clock 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing emergency rescue, specialized care, medical treatment, and rehabilitation until animals are healthy enough to return to the wild.
Saving Wildlife Comes at a Cost
Many of the animals we receive arrive dehydrated, injured, and critically ill. They require emergency medical care, specialized formulas, medications, vaccines, diagnostic testing, and ongoing treatment. Every animal deserves that chance, and we cannot do it alone.

As a 100% volunteer-powered nonprofit, Texas Metro Wildlife Rehabilitators provides lifesaving care to native wildlife across the DFW Metroplex. From tiny, orphaned squirrels and baby rabbits to other larger native species, we rescue, rehabilitate, and release native wildlife back into the wild where they belong.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release ill, injured, orphaned, and displaced native Texas wildlife back into their natural habitats, giving each animal the opportunity to live the life nature intended.

Each year, our volunteers care for more than 1,500 animals, and that number continues to grow. Every intake requires food, housing, medical attention, cleaning supplies, and countless hours of hands-on care.
We urgently need funding for:
