This is Taylor's Cancer Journey:
In February 2020, at 9 years old, Taylor was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. A rare and aggressive cancer. Her treatment started with surgery for port placement, and a battery of tests to determine disease progression, prognosis, and a treatment plan.
By February 2021 scans showed metastatic disease and Taylor’s prognosis was now 10% survival. On November 17, 2021, Taylor told her mom she no longer wanted treatment. So they began the process to enter into hospice. On December 7, 2021, at 9:11pm, Taylor took her final breath surrounded by her loved ones.
Taylor's Dream is a relatively new 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to helping children battling childhood cancers take a time out from the day to day challenges of fighting. To make a little Dream come true. To make memories. To just be kids for a little while.
Our Board is made up of a bunch of mom's from the DFW metro area who joined with our founder and Taylor's mom to honor Taylor's memory. We provide funds to cover the cost of a day out doing whatever the child wants to do that day. Whatever their Dream Day looks like. That may mean a day at a water park, playing golf, going to a play, the zoo, a hockey game, purchasing and setting up a backyard pool for summer fun at home, really anything at all that is special to our selected kiddo and their family.
