Our foundation's mission is to support local nonprofits that address the health, education and welfare of our community. We support these local charities by providing program-specific grants. Since our inception in 2014, we have given more than $250,000 in grants to 43 different deserving charities! In 2019 alone, we granted $63,400 to 11 different local charities.
On average we have over 60 grant applications per year. NTCGF reviews and researches the charities and their grant application to ensure donor money is being properly used.
A large portion of NTCGF's grant proceeds comes from the organizations signature event, the Texas Big Star Half Marathon & 5K. The Texas Big Star is the only half marathon in Frisco and is one of the largest in terms of runner participants in the metroplex. While the annual race is held in Frisco, we receive entries from all over the state of Texas and have runners come from more than 25 states, and multiple countries.
The Texas Big Star is an annual race taking place in April each year and is supported through runner registrations and sponsorships. The funds raised go back into the nonprofit community through our grant process.
It is our hope to grow the Foundation so that we give out more and more grants to local charities in need.
We continue to search for race sponsors, runners and volunteers.
The North Texas Community Giving Foundation is dedicated to making an impact in North Texas by supporting local nonprofit organizations who align with our vision of improving the health, education and welfare of our community.
