Mission

At Stray to Play, we give abandoned and forgotten dogs a second chance — providing safety, love, and a path to a forever home while building a future where fewer dogs are left behind.

Needs

Stray to Play is currently focused on providing lifesaving care to dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, or at risk of euthanasia. The biggest areas where support is needed include:

Medical Care: Emergency surgeries, treatments, vaccinations, and ongoing care for injured and sick dogs

Veterinary Expenses: Routine and critical vet visits, spay/neuter procedures, and preventative care

Food & Supplies: High-quality food, crates, bedding, leashes, and daily essentials for dogs in our care

Boarding & Housing: Safe, temporary placement for dogs when foster homes are full, which is one of our largest ongoing expenses

Every dollar directly supports our ability to rescue more dogs, provide them with the care they deserve, and ultimately find them loving homes.

Equity Statement

At Stray to Play, we are committed to advancing equity by expanding access to lifesaving resources for both dogs and the people who care for them. We intentionally serve communities that are often overlooked or under-resourced, where barriers such as cost, housing restrictions, and access to veterinary care can prevent animals from receiving the help they need.

We rescue dogs regardless of breed, condition, or medical complexity, and work to ensure that adoption is accessible and inclusive by supporting families from all backgrounds. Through education, outreach, and community partnerships, we strive to reduce inequities in animal welfare and create pathways for more dogs to safely transition from survival to thriving homes.

We believe that compassionate care should not be limited by circumstance, and we are committed to building a model that reflects fairness, accessibility, and opportunity for all.
