Stray Evolution

The mission of Stray Evolution is to assist individuals that are providing care for feral/community cat colonies with trapping, neutering and vaccinating.  Cats are only returned to a fed, sheltered  community.  Abandoned or colonies in danger are trapped and relocated.  Shelters are provided as necessary.   Kittens, strays or cats that are in need of special care are kept at our sanctuary.  Adoptive are offered for kittens and cats that can be socialized.  Special needs cats will remain at the sanctuary. 

Our Goals

• A long-term community commitment to maintain and reduce the local free-roaming cat population.
•  Improve the quality of life for homeless cats and kittens.
•  Encourage humane treatment, and an understanding that these cats are victims of circumstance, deserving of care and kindness, and provide a valuable public service in rodent control.
•  Rehabilitate kittens and friendly strays for adoption.
•  Provide temporary housing for cats’ recovery after surgery.
•  Dispel the belief that feral/stray cats negatively impact the wild bird population.
•  Provide educational material pertaining to feral cats.
•  Work to end the destruction of cats and kittens by animal shelters and animal control agencies simply due to their numbers or failure to be adopted.
•  Assist local shelters with overflow animals when possible.
• Rescue animals from abusive, neglectful and endangering situations.
•  Provide necessary veterinary care.
•  Promote and establish a network of other animal rescue groups to collaborate with to provide opportunities for more animals to be rescued.
•  Promote the importance of spaying/neutering and assist others with referrals to low cost spay/neuter and vaccination programs.
•  Establish a sanctuary for animals that are unable to be released, relocated or adopted.
