Rise Against Hunger works in countries worldwide to fight hunger, targeting communities facing high rates of food insecurity. We target remote, last-mile communities within hunger pockets designated “serious” or higher on the Global Hunger Index, which are the hardest places to reach and are often difficult to access, lack communication, and have poor infrastructure. We provide voluneteer-packaged meals and other assistance, often through school feeding programs, to support nutrition, education and health for children and families facing hunger right now. We also partner with local leaders to implement sustainable agriculture and income-generating projects that support long-term solutions to food security and empower communities to become self-reliant and thrive.
Rise Against Hunger is on a mission to end global hunger — and the Dallas/Fort Worth community is leading the charge. By empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to crisis, we’re growing a worldwide movement rooted in action. In 2022 alone, the DFW Meal Packaging Program united over 11,000 volunteers to package 2.3 million meals — and we’re just getting started. Together, we’re increasing our impact from North Texas to the world.
