St. Joseph's Residence

A nonprofit organization

$13,847 raised by 9 donors

In a world where elder care can feel impersonal, St. Joseph's remains deeply human.

Calling St. Joseph's Residence an assisted living facility is an understatement. It is a home where the elderly are known, cared for, and never forgotten.

Since 1955, the Bethlemite Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus have served the Diocese of Dallas with a rare and enduring commitment. Sisters who have given 20, 30, even 60 years to this community are not unusual, and that continuity of presence is the care. Many residents choose St. Joseph's not simply for its services, but for the peace of knowing they will be treated with dignity, compassion, and love in their final years.

Our Needs

As a not-for-profit, St. Joseph’s Residence is committed to providing a high level of care to as many elderly residents as possible, with particular attention to those who are most vulnerable.

Having been founded in 1955, our facility, particularly the original building, naturally shows signs of age and requires ongoing repair and updating. Support from donors allows us to address these needs and ensure that our home remains safe, comfortable, and welcoming for all who live here.

At the same time, we must sustain the daily care of our residents. Your generosity helps provide meals, personal care, housekeeping, and medical supplies, as well as the attentive presence that affirms the dignity of each person we serve.

It also makes possible the small but meaningful touches that bring comfort and joy to the daily life for our residents, most of whom have limited financial resources and little to no family to care for them.

Every contribution helps us continue this mission: caring for the whole person, honoring the dignity of every life, and ensuring that no one entrusted to us is forgotten.

Mission

The mission of St. Joseph's Residence is to provide compassionate, dignified care to the elderly who can no longer live independently, accompanying them through the final stage of life and helping them draw closer to God. In partnership with lay staff and guided by the Church's call to serve the most vulnerable, we offer assisted living in a setting of safety, dignity, and peace. Residents of all faiths are welcome, and each person is served with the same compassion, respect, and conviction that every life carries irreplaceable worth, especially in its final chapter.
