$30,000 Goal

Located in the heart of Southeast Dallas, St. Philip & St. Augustine (SPSA) has been proudly serving the community since 2015 and is celebrating 10 years of positive impact! Over the past decade, the Dallas community has come together to help us build an academy that serves as a safe haven for children and families facing tremendous challenges while transforming the trajectory of their lives. Our families are striving to build a better life for their children and we believe that a transformative education is the key to improving the futures of our students and creating long-term stability. Your support isn't just an investment in education; it's an investment in our community's future leaders.

SPSA is a Catholic elementary and middle school serving 324 students Pre-K through 8th grade. Our dedicated faculty fosters a love of learning in our students from an early age and provides a well-rounded education that not only emphasizes core academics but also develops leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re proud to share a few of our many successes:

  • Academic Excellence: 95% of our students read at or above grade level compared to 47% in DISD.
  • Soft Skills Training: Students in grades 5–8 participate in intentional development of leadership, time management, conflict resolution, and interview skills, preparing them for high school and beyond.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Students enjoy a well-rounded experience that includes art and music classes, a wide variety of extracurricular activities, and athletic programs such as basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
  • Leadership Opportunities: From Student Council to National Junior Honor Society, students are empowered to lead, serve, and grow.
  • Community Involvement: 100% of our students complete service hours every year and our families are actively engaged in giving back to the community as well.
  • High School and Beyond: 100% of our students graduate from SPSA and attend their best-fit high school and going on to earn full scholarships to prestigious universities across the country, including Boston University and TCU.
  • Family Engagement: Our families are deeply committed to lifelong learning. In response to parent interest, SPSA launched the monthly Parent Engagement & Education Program (PEEP) where we partner with community organizations and share important topics with our parents such as financial literacy, healthy living, mental health awareness, cyberbullying, and more.

“We have been part of this wonderful SPSA community for the past 19 years. We chose SPSA because here our children learn not only math and science but also the importance of integrity, service and community. SPSA is a place where teachers, staff, parents, and students come together with a shared purpose: to nurture the whole child and to help them become the best version of themselves. Sending our children to SPSA was a decision rooted in love and hope. We are grateful for this community that not only educates but also uplifts and empowers. A place that shapes not only the students’ academic journey but also their character and their hearts. We recognize and acknowledge that generosity and support of donors is one of the pillars that enables SPSA. Because of you, SPSA can enhance academic programs, provide scholarships to those in need, and create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Your kindness extends beyond donations; it embodies the spirit of community and shared purpose, working toward a common goal of nurturing compassionate, responsible and faithful individuals. Your generosity is a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of community. I look forward to watching my children grow in faith, knowledge, and character, knowing they are part of a community that truly cares.”

-Carmen Rivas, SPSA Parent

We love the atmosphere at SPSA! The administration, staff, parents, students, volunteers and board of directors make this one of the prized schools in the entire Diocese. You walk in the front door, and you immediately feel the presence of Christ and a sense of love and goodness.

Mission

St. Philip & St. Augustine Catholic Academy promotes Gospel values, inspires a love of learning, and upholds academic excellence in a nurturing community.

Needs

SPSA serves a primarily Hispanic population, with 65% of our families living below the federal poverty line and the remaining 35% considered low-income. Many of our parents make tremendous sacrifices to provide the essentials for their households, and for them, their children’s education is one of those essentials. A quality education is the most meaningful gift they can give their children.

At SPSA, the greatest gift we can offer in return is a safe, nurturing environment where students can grow academically and spiritually. We are laying a foundation that empowers every child to become a critical thinker, a self-advocate, a productive and moral citizen, and a spiritual leader.

This Christmas, we aim to raise $30,000 to provide this gift of a transformative educational experience to children all year long. Every child deserves the opportunity to attend a school that sets them on a path to success and with your help, we can make that possible. Your investment in SPSA, no matter the size, will have a direct and lasting impact on our community.
