Southwestern Medical Foundation is guided by four core principles: Service to Community, Vision of Excellence, Mindful Stewardship, and Best Outcomes. Each principle is a promise to our donors, our beneficiaries, and the generations to come that we are dedicated to bringing the gift of better health to our community and the world beyond.

Southwestern Medical Foundation continues to earn a Candid (formerly GuideStar) Platinum Seal and Charity Navigator Four-Star Rating. These organizations rate governance, accountability, and transparency, supported by both qualitative and quantitative measures.

Mission

Southwestern Medical Foundation is a public charity and a registered 501(c)(3) organized in 1939 with a question: "Why not a great medical center in the Southwestern United States?" The Foundation was created to rally citizens in support of the highest quality health care possible in the Southwestern U.S.

Needs

For over 85 years, generosity from our community has fueled life-changing discoveries, trained exceptional medical professionals, and delivered outstanding care for North Texas. This North Texas Giving Day, the most powerful way to make a difference is with a gift to our Greatest Need fund. Your support will be put to work where it can do the most good right now, strengthening research, education, and patient care across our mission.

You can choose to focus your gift on one of our key areas of impact: Medical Research, Medical Education, or Patient Care. In addition, you can support specific programs such as The Moncrief Cancer Institute, Moody Children’s Hospital, The Cary Council Fund, or another specific fund or tribute of your choosing.
