South Central Irish Wolfhound Club Inc., originally North Texas Irish Wolfhound Club, was founded in 1975 by a small group of Irish Wolfhound owners as a rescue and social organization. Membership is a diverse group and open to pet owners, breeders, those that show wolfhounds or just enjoy social interaction with those that share a common interest and love of the breed. We are a source for education, support and mentoring. Partnering with the Irish Wolfhound Club of America and the Irish Wolfhound Foundation, wolfhound owners are also involved in ongoing health studies for longevity and health of the breed.

SCIWC became a 501(c)3 in 2014. The club has been an active participant in many festivals throughout the state of Texas. Rescue has reached and provided services in both Texas and surrounding states. SCIWC has hosted the Irish Wolfhound Better Breeders’ Symposium that provides an educational venue for breeders to share and learn. The club encourages members and owners to participate in lure coursing, conformation, obedience and therapy work. We conduct fundraisers for our rescue program, including the sale of merchandise and online auctions in addition to donations.

Rescue is the primary focus for South Central. We provide transport, health care and supplies to hounds in need. As expenses rise, every dollar raised ensures our ability to provide services for rescued hounds throughout the state. Please consider donating to our cause and help us make more happy endings possible.
