$1,000 Goal

No veteran should experience homelessness.

SoldiersVillage began as a 14 year old’s idea. Co-founder, Madelyn Vela, couldn’t understand how people that are willing to sacrifice their life for our country could end up begging on the street. SoldiersVillage aims to end homelessness among US Veterans in the North Texas area. We see housing instability as a concern that stretches every corner of short-term to long-term dominion.

In the terms of immediate needs, SoldiersVillage provides immediate, low barrier access to safe, support housing. Our residents have access to shelter, food, clothing and hygiene products. Residents also have the opportunity to engage in house programs related to developing skills in areas such as financial management, employment readiness and emotional health.  Additionally, residents receive clinical navigation services to begin, the often lifelong process, of connecting to medical and behavioral health care.

It is our deepest hope that residents develop a positive self-image as they progress through our program and graduate with the ability to live self sufficient lives.

Mission

SoldiersVillage (SV) aims to end homelessness among US Veterans. We believe firmly that all people

deserve safe, stable housing. In fact, we see housing as an essential step in building a life of stability.

Housing is a human right; and, the associated security, dignity, and comfort are obligations owed to US

Veterans.
