SNAP & CLAP (Special Needs Community Learning Adult Program) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making a difference in the lives of adults with special needs by anchoring them into the community.
Our Anchors spend 75% of their time out in the community—going to movies, museums, and events; taking CrossFit and yoga classes; eating at local restaurants; helping seniors; and volunteering. These experiences build independence, friendships, and real-world connections in our community that matter.
Over the past two years, SNAP & CLAP and Anchors have driven over 12,000 miles across North Texas, visited more than 100 different locations, and contributed over 50+ hours of meaningful community service.
Your support helps us continue to provide opportunities that empower our Anchors to thrive, belong, shine, and anchor themselves in the community.
Who Are Anchors? At SNAP & CLAP, we call the adults we serve Anchors—because that’s exactly who they are. Anchors are faithful, steadfast, and loyal. They give us hope, love, and stability. They hold us in place, remind us of what matters most, and anchor us to the joys of life.
SNAP & CLAP exists to support these Anchors by providing vocational training, independent living skills, and meaningful community experiences—so they can anchor themselves confidently within the community.
Our mission is to provide adults with special needs an opportunity to make a difference in their lives and anchor themselves in the community by building relationships, establishing partnerships, and volunteering.
SNAP & CLAP does not receive any government funding. The State of Texas is one of the lowest, 49th, in serving and supporting individuals with special needs. As this is a barrier for adults with special needs, SNAP & CLAP is breaking down those barriers. Our vision is an inclusive community where individuals with special needs can recognize their full potential and contribute to the community in personally meaningful ways.
Your support helps breaks down those funding barriers, helps anchor these adults in the community, and support these adults make a difference in their lives and those in our community!
SNAP & CLAP does not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, or gender. We are committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all involved feel respected and valued.
