SNAP & CLAP (Special Needs Community Learning Adult Program) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities become truly anchored in their community.

We call our participants Anchors because we believe they bring hope, love, stability, and so much more to the people and communities around them.

SNAP & CLAP is the only program of its kind where every Anchor, particpant, spends approximately 75% of each program day out in the community creating opportunities for our Anchors to explore, volunteer, exercise, build friendships, and experience real life throughout North Texas and beyond.

These aren't simply activities. They are opportunities to learn, grow, build independence, make friendships, contribute, and belong.

Your support helps SNAP & CLAP continue creating these meaningful experiences and ensures our Anchors have opportunities to discover new interests, step outside their comfort zones, give back to others, and become more confident and connected in their community.

When you support SNAP & CLAP, you aren't just supporting a program. You're supporting an Anchor, and helping create a community where they are known, welcomed, valued, and truly belong.

  • 26 Anchors every week through our Community Program
  • 25–35 Anchors each month during our (Respite) Club Nights
  • 30+ Anchors each summer through our summer camps
  • 60+ unique Anchors each year across all of our programs

Help us keep our Anchors anchored in their community.

Mission

Our mission is to empower adults with special needs to make a meaningful difference in their lives by anchoring themselves within the community through building relationships, forming partnerships, and engaging in volunteer opportunities that foster purpose, confidence, and belonging.

Needs

SNAP & CLAP does not receive government funding. Texas ranks among the lowest in the nation in funding and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, leaving many adults and families with limited options and significant barriers to meaningful community involvement.

SNAP & CLAP is working to break down those barriers. Our vision is an inclusive community where individuals with special needs can recognize their full potential, build meaningful relationships, contribute their talents, and make a difference in ways that are personally meaningful to them.

Your support helps make that vision possible. Your generosity helps break down financial barriers, keeps our Anchors connected to their community, and creates opportunities for them to learn, grow, contribute, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Together, we can keep our Anchors anchored in their community.

Equity Statement

SNAP & CLAP does not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, or gender. We are committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all involved feel respected and valued.
