Chase gave without being asked.
He was the kind of person who would give away his last dollar if someone else needed it more. He mowed the yard of an elderly woman who could no longer do it herself. He showed up for people who needed a hand. He gave because he saw a need, never for recognition — giving was simply who Chase was. He carried a light that made people feel seen, cared for and loved.
On September 11 2023, Chase came upon a wreck in Fort Worth involving three young women and a mother. Believing the vehicle might be on fire, he pulled over, turned on his flashing lights, and rushed to help. He got the women out of the vehicle and to safety. Then, as he went back to call law enforcement and get additional help, a semi-truck struck them. Chase and three of the young women lost their lives that night.
He died doing exactly what he had always done — putting others before himself.
There are no words for the grief that followed. Four families were changed forever, along with countless people who knew and loved them. But even in the deepest part of it, we knew one thing: Chase's story could not end there.
What the Foundation does
The Chase It Foundation funds Sisu Scholars — children who receive Texas-standards academics from certified teachers alongside elite athletic training, in one program, on one campus, for a full year. Not a season. A year, and every classroom hour in between.
Youth sports run on pay-to-play. Tuition, training, uniforms, travel, fees. Talent and determination are not always enough, and cost is the best-documented reason children leave sports — right at the age when talent begins to separate. The talent was never the problem.
We award scholarships on published criteria applied the same way to every applicant, and we pay tuition directly to the school at the standard published rate.
What SISU means to us
Sisu is a word for the strength you find when your heart is broken — courage, perseverance, the determination to keep moving forward when life feels impossible. To our family it means more. It means turning unimaginable loss into purpose, and choosing to keep going, not because the journey is easy, but because the legacy is too important to leave behind.

We cannot bring Chase back. But we can continue what he started. We can choose generosity. We can show up when someone needs us.

That is his legacy. That is our purpose. That is Chase It.

The Chase It Foundation carries forward the way Chase lived — with courage, compassion and generosity — by funding full scholarships that give children an education and elite athletic training their families could not otherwise afford, so that talent and drive decide a child's path, not a family's finances.
Every dollar will serve out the mission of the Chase It Foundation. Here are just a few things to account for in our partnership with the SISU Soccer Academy:
- There is a gap to fill for each child's cost of tuition. That gap represents about a $6k scholarship per child
- Classroom equipment from laptops and ipads to updated technology and software
- Access to training equipment that gives each child the competitive edge
- Recovery equipment that keeps each athlete free of injury along their journey
- Access to some of the most brilliant and qualified minds in education, sports, health and wellness
Sisu Scholars are selected by an independent committee against published criteria: demonstrated financial need, the student's commitment, and family engagement. The Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or religion. No gift may be designated for a specific child.
