Sisters Network Dallas, Inc. TX., is an affiliate chapter of Sisters Network® Inc, the only National African American breast cancer survivor organization. The organization’s purpose is to save lives and provide a broader scope of knowledge that addresses the breast cancer survivorship crisis affecting African American women. There are more than 30 affiliate survivor-run affiliate chapters nationwide with a total of over 3,000 members.
Founded in June 2005, Sisters Network Dallas chapter is a community-based organization made up of African American breast cancer survivors supporting the greater Dallas Metro area who saw an urgent need to unite with other survivors, communities and health care professionals in the fight against breast cancer in the black community.
Sisters Network Dallas, Inc. is a survivor-led organization dedicated to saving lives through education, advocacy, and support, addressing breast cancer disparities and improving survivorship outcomes for African American women in the Dallas–Fort Worth community.
African American women experience higher breast cancer mortality rates and face significant disparities in early detection, access to care, and survivorship support. In the Dallas–Fort Worth area, many women lack culturally relevant education, timely screenings, and sustained support after diagnosis. Survivors often encounter financial strain, emotional distress, and limited navigation resources during and after treatment. There is a critical need for survivor-led, community-based programs that provide education, advocacy, and support tailored to the unique experiences of African American women affected by breast cancer.
Sisters Network Dallas, Inc. is committed to advancing equity in breast cancer education, care, and survivorship. We recognize that systemic inequities and structural racism contribute to disparities in breast cancer outcomes for African American women. Through survivor-led advocacy, culturally responsive education, and community-centered partnerships, we work to ensure all women have equitable access to timely information, quality care, and supportive resources. We strive to create inclusive spaces that honor lived experiences, empower voices, and promote health justice within the communities we serve.
