Sign Kind Organization (SKO) – North Texas Giving Day CampaignBuilding SKO Space: A Communication-First Community for Every Child

Sign Kind is a teen-led advocacy organization dedicated to bridging the communication gap between the deaf and hearing communities. Our mission is to ensure sign language is recognized, respected, and valued, while promoting inclusion for children who are deaf, hard of hearing, or nonverbal. You can learn more about our work at SignKind.org.

"At Sign Kind Organization (SKO), we believe every child deserves a voice and a community that understands them." -Reagan and Payton Jackson, Sign Kind Founders

This North Texas Giving Day, we are raising $150,000–$250,000 to bring SKO Space in Dallas to life: an inclusive, communication-centered environment designed for children of all abilities, including those who are deaf, hard of hearing, neurodivergent, or experiencing communication barriers.

SKO Space will be more than a recreation facility...it will be a hub for connection, learning, and belonging.          Through evidence-based practices and a strong foundation in functional communication (including sign language), we empower children to express their needs, build relationships, and navigate the world with confidence.

Why SKO Space Matters
Too many children are underserved due to a lack of accessible, inclusive care...especially those who rely on visual communication or require specialized support. Families often face long waitlists, limited provider options, or programs that are not equipped to meet their child’s communication needs.

SKO is changing that.

Mission

At Sign Kind, our mission is to create an inclusive environment where children of all abilities learn, grow, and connect through kindness, communication, and meaningful experiences. We believe that teaching neurotypical children positive and respectful interactions with peers who have autism, learning disabilities, or are part of Deaf culture helps build empathy, confidence, and lifelong understanding. Through fun, engaging, and supportive learning opportunities, we foster meaningful communication skills that encourage children to feel comfortable with differences, celebrate diversity, and build genuine connections within their community.
