Our Hannah's House is a Christian nonprofit organization that seeks to serve women who are unhoused and/or those affected by domestic violence.

Needs

Our Hannah's House, which focuses on supporting unhoused women and those affected by domestic violence, here are some needs and considerations for purchasing or renting a home to accommodate at least four women and children. General rental cost in the City of Dallas starts at approx. $1200.

Housing Requirements:

Safety and security is the utmost housing need to ensure the property has secure locks, windows, and possibly a security system to ensure the safety of the residents.

Accessibility: The home should be accessible to women with disabilities if needed, including features like ramps or elevators if required.

Space: Looking for a home with enough bedrooms and bathrooms to comfortably house at least four women. Ideally, each resident should have a private or semi-private space.

Common Areas: Include shared spaces such as a living room, dining area, and kitchen. These areas should be conducive to communal living and support.

2. Location:

Proximity to Support Services: Ideally, the home should be located near essential services like counseling centers, legal assistance, healthcare, and job training programs.

Public Transportation: We will ensure the location has access to public transportation to help residents move around and attend appointments or job interviews.

Safe Neighborhood: The home should be situated in a safe and supportive neighborhood to provide a secure environment for the residents.
