The Ruth Cheatham Foundation(TRCF) is a national nonprofit providing support to teens impacted by cancer. TRCF provides college scholarships and educational support to teens impacted by cancer, bridging the educational opportunity gap and providing a gateway to economic mobility.

Mission

TRCF provides college scholarships and educational support to teens impacted by cancer, bridging the educational opportunity gap and providing a gateway to economic mobility.

Needs

Cancer is both emotionally and financially draining. TRCF is dedicated to providing much-needed educational support to young adults in all stages of the cancer treatment process.

TRCF is seeking funding to support the TRCF Scholarships to teen cancer survivors and wrap-around support services to ensure scholars' success in college.

TRCF offers college scholarships to reduce the financial burden that a diagnosis of cancer can bring. All scholarships offered by TRCF are four-year scholarships and amounts vary based on the scholar’s financial need and severity of impact due to their cancer diagnosis. TRCF has awarded over 393 college scholarships to date, with a graduation rate of 85% (compared to the national average of 54% graduation rate). Without TRCF scholarships, most of our scholars indicate that they would not have access to higher education and a college degree.

TRCF bridges the educational opportunity gap for survivors through college scholarships and educational resources such as online tutoring, online career readiness workshops, and online support groups. TRCF provides the gateway to economic opportunity and is instrumental in fostering growth, social mobility, and a higher quality of life for young cancer survivors.
