Getting sober is the lift hill. Staying sober is The Whole Ride.

Recovery does not end when treatment ends, when a meeting lets out, or when the immediate crisis passes.

Then comes the rest of life.

The evenings. The weekends. Birthdays and holidays. Making friends. Finding something to do on a Saturday afternoon. Walking into a place alone. Learning how to enjoy life again without drugs or alcohol.

That is where Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. comes in.

Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. is a DFW-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit building sober community through substance-free shared experiences, belonging, and practical support.

We create real-world opportunities for people in recovery, sober-curious adults, and sober allies to connect, build friendships, and experience a full life without pressure to disclose their story or follow one particular recovery pathway.

Our events are intentionally simple: clear plans, substance-free environments, and low pressure.

You can come alone.

You do not have to know anyone.

You do not have to explain why you are there.

Showing up is enough.

The calendar looks like real life because recovery has to work in real life.

Throughout 2026, Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. has brought people together at theme parks, museums, a roller rink, a trolley ride, arcades, Pride, water parks, and other community spaces across DFW.

On August 16, The Seat Next To Me turned National Roller Coaster Day into a 41-lap endurance ride on Judge Roy Scream at Six Flags Over Texas. Supporters dedicated laps to people and reasons they were riding for.

The event put one of our core beliefs into motion: difficult parts of life become easier to face when somebody is willing to take the seat next to you.

The calendar continues with experiences at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Meow Wolf, the State Fair of Texas, Six Flags Fright Fest, volunteer opportunities, holiday gatherings, and other substance-free community experiences.

But building community is only part of the work.

This December, Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. is preparing for the first Ride & Provide, a practical outreach initiative assembling factory-sealed hygiene care kits for people in transition.

Distribution is planned through The Magdalen House, Dallas 24 Hour Club, The Bridge, and Homeward Bound. The number of kits Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. can assemble will depend on the funding available.

Ride & Provide is not separate from our community work. It comes from the same belief.

People need connection.

People need dignity.

People sometimes need practical help.

And people need a next step.

Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. is not treatment, detox, therapy, sober living, or a replacement for clinical care or recovery meetings. We work alongside those resources by helping people build something that can be much harder to create on their own:

a life with people in it.

A Saturday afternoon with somewhere to go.

A museum trip.

A roller coaster.

A volunteer shift.

A message that says, “We’re going. Want to come?”

A familiar face when you arrive.

That is where belonging starts.

And belonging can change what happens next.

THE WHOLE RIDE

The Whole Ride is Roller Coaster Recovery Inc.’s 2026 North Texas Giving Day campaign.

Our goal is $5,000.

North Texas Giving Day gifts help Roller Coaster Recovery Inc. provide scholarships that reduce cost barriers to paid experiences, support year-round community events and programs, purchase factory-sealed outreach supplies, and maintain the basic operating capacity required to keep a consistent sober community calendar moving.

But The Whole Ride is about more than the dollar total.

Every unique North Texas Giving Day donor becomes one Rider.

There is no public Rider target and the Rider Count is not a competition. It is a visible reminder that community is built one person at a time.

Someone shows up once.

Then comes back.

Then recognizes somebody.

Then gets invited somewhere.

Then starts making friends.

And eventually, that same person may notice somebody new standing alone and say:

“Come with us.”

That is the whole ride.

Take your place on it.

In life and recovery, there are no single rider lines. We do this together.
