The funds we distribute are used to facilitate student achievement and skill development and to recognize and encourage staff excellence. Some of our existing support includes grants awarded to teachers who are new to the profession and to Rockwall ISD. The gift is presented in August and is designed to help offset some of the costs associated with setting up a classroom. We also help the District in celebrating the Teacher of the Year from each campus, as well as the District Teachers of the Year, Elementary and Secondary respectively.
Our newest project is developing a robust alumni program. We have an enormous population of generations who grew up in this community and all arrows point to a highly-untapped, active-adult audience.
Our Needs
The Rockwall ISD Education Foundation (REF) is actively seeking funds to support the Innovative Teaching Grant program. The target amount of $50,000 will be designated for grants that focus on At-Risk, Career/Technical Education, Fine Arts, Humanities, Reading/Literacy and STEAM.
We are developing a scholarship program which focuses on the trades and supports the graduates from our college and career academy, allowing graduates to earn a certification within their respective fields as they enter the workforce. The primary specific field, primarily in the health care industry.
We operate as a separate entity from the District and rely 100% on outside funding to support our current mission, along with our 10-year plan
