Road Trip 4 Paws

Once again our main focus this past year has been South TX. There are so many small shelters that house their dogs/cats outdoors in 100 degree heat or 32 degree cold because that is the only resource they have and they are doing the best they can. Sadly they are so limited that they have realized the best chance for these dogs/cats is to get them out of South TX even if it’s a van ride north to DFW

We also take in a lot of owner surrendered pups from down South with the stipulation we spay mom if the family will not give them up. We are trying so hard to work toward fixing the problem and not just putting a bandaid on it but when the number of pleas for help outweigh the number of foster homes available it makes it impossible to do more. 

We feel like we are making a positive impact in these areas but there is so much potential to make an even larger one.

Our Needs

We are in need of monetary donations to cover the costs of veterinary care, food and maintenance for the approximately 60 dogs and cats in our program. We have had a massive amount of unexpected vet bills that we would like to pay off. Heartworm positive dogs continue to be a huge expense for us, as well as unexpected surgeries such as cherry eyes and hernias.  We also have had multiple female dogs arrive and “surprise” they were pregnant. That equals a lot of mouths to feed but we love them so we wouldn’t have it any other way. Because we are a small group these unexpected expenses completely deplete our funds.
