Refugee Empowerment Network is a registered 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. We seek to contribute to the empowerment of refugees through capacity building. We provide services to over two thousand refugees from over ten different countries around the world. We help them to move from being liabilities to assets. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action and teamwork can make a great impact in addressing the plight of refugees. Refugee Empowerment Network exists to show a generous welcome to refugees and empower them for successful and sustainable integration into their local communities. We are a registered 501 (C ) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing practical, life-changing resources. We are champions for refugee vitality and resourcefulness in refugee camps and resettlement cities. We seek to build bridges and develop a multicultural connection between refugees, American churches, and American people.
Our vision is that refugees and vulnerable groups are empowered, independent community members.
1. We need funding to support our programs, personnel and administrative costs. We are hoping to raise $50,000 to ensure every refugee family moves from being a liability to asset through capacity development. In other words, your donation will help us to ensure that refugees we serve become self-sufficient. Please consider a gift of $1, $10, $50, $100, $1000 or more. Right now, we are serving over 2000 refugees and other vulnerable groups.
2. We need an 18-seater minibus or a van to transport non-English speaking, new arrival refugees to and from the English as a second Language Training Center in Fort Worth on a daily basis.
The same van will also be used to transport new arrival refugees to and from work because most new arrival refugees do not own cars and have no driver's licenses.
Also, we need two to three cars for the administrative and employment case management purposes.
3. We need a truck to transport food and other household items for distribution to needing refugees on weekly and monthly basis.
4. We need at least 10 new Computers and/ Laptops, tables, chairs and an LCD projector for our Information, Communication and Technology Training Center.
5. We need volunteers to serve as English Language Instructors, Computer Trainers, etc.
6. Relief: we need household items, food, clothing to donate to needing refugees on weekly and monthly basis.
