Needs
We must open an emergency house here in North Texas. There are simply not enough beds to support the number of women who are in crisis and need an immediate place to escape and stabilize in our North Texas area. In addition, when law enforcement, hospitals, or other agencies reach out with a woman in a crisis situation, there are currently a limited number of beds available specifically for victims of trafficking.
Emergency housing provides:
•Immediate shelter
•24/7 onsite staff support
•Basic needs assistance
•Medical care
•Psychosocial and therapeutic support
•Substance abuse treatment
•Targeted casework
This service is provided for 30-90 days with the goal of helping the woman stabilize so she can then progress into the long-term program if she chooses.
The Emergency Housing program provides emergency, non-conditional, temporary shelter to women and provides them access to multi-sector services.
This endeavor will double our current operating budget and allow us to sustain the continuum of care of Emergency Housing, Long-Term Housing, and Transitional Living.
Our goal is to have this emergency home open in the next 18 months. Our greatest need is to connect with foundations, businesses, churches, and individuals who want to lock arms with us in achieving this goal.
