Our Objectives
Expand Book Access and Ownership We create book access and ownership by removing barriers to quality books, through book gifting events and community bookmobile pop-ups.
Inspire Positive Reading Experiences We create joyful, social, and meaningful reading experiences that spark curiosity, imagination, and a love of lifelong learning.
Activate Literary Third Spaces We cultivate third spaces where community members can engage with books, authors, and others in an exchange of ideas.

ARCO's mission is to activate DFW’s reading culture. We help communities cultivate a vibrant, inclusive reading culture and work to effectively reverse book deserts in the DFW area. Our initiatives are grounded in the belief that access alone is not enough–communities must also experience ownership, representation, and belonging within literary spaces.

ARCO Giving Impact:
$10 supports community programming efforts.
$20 provides a new book.
$75 provides new books for a family of four.
$100 covers supplies for art activities.
$200 supports a neighborhood book club, fostering local reading connections and promoting community.
$500 funds a community story time event with book gifting, so that families go home with a copy of the book.
$1,000 supports ARCO’s lasting legacy of expanding literacy and access.
$4,500 supports a community bookmobile pop-up, which includes a community story time, arts & crafts activity, and a free community book fair.
