Mission

### Mission Statement

At **READ Foundation (Revive, Excel, Achieve, Discover)**, our mission is to ignite possibility, unlock potential, and transform futures by providing innovative educational experiences that empower students to dream beyond their circumstances. Through STEM/STEAM learning, literacy, mentorship, career exploration, leadership development, and community engagement, we equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

We believe talent is universal, but opportunity is not. That is why we are committed to creating pathways that inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and cultivate resilience—especially for students in underserved communities. By connecting education to real-world experiences, we help learners discover who they can become while building a foundation for lifelong success.

Our purpose is simple yet powerful: **to revive hope, cultivate excellence, unlock achievement, and empower every student to discover their greatness.**

Needs

### Statement of Need

Every child deserves the opportunity to dream, explore, and succeed. Yet for many students across our communities, the path to opportunity is filled with barriers that extend far beyond the classroom. Limited access to STEM programs, technology, mentorship, career exploration, and enrichment opportunities often leaves talented young people without the resources needed to fully realize their potential.

Many students in underserved and economically disadvantaged communities face challenges that can impact academic achievement, self-confidence, and future career readiness. Without exposure to innovative learning experiences and positive role models, students may struggle to envision possibilities beyond their immediate circumstances. The result is an opportunity gap that can limit future educational and workforce outcomes.

READ Foundation exists to help close that gap. We believe that a student's future should never be determined by their zip code, income level, or access to resources. By providing hands-on STEM and STEAM experiences, literacy support, mentorship, leadership development, and career-connected learning opportunities, we create environments where students can discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to thrive.

The need is not simply for programs—it is for hope, exposure, encouragement, and opportunity. Every day, we meet students who possess extraordinary talent, creativity, and potential but lack access to the experiences that can help them unlock it. Through strategic partnerships and community support, READ Foundation works to ensure that every child has the chance to learn, lead, innovate, and pursue a future filled with possibility.

Because when we invest in children, we do more than change individual lives—we strengthen families, empower communities, and create a brighter future for generations to come.

Equity Statement

### Equity Statement

At **READ Foundation**, we believe equity is not about giving every student the same opportunity—it is about ensuring every student has what they need to succeed.

Too often, talent is evenly distributed while access is not. Across our communities, countless young people possess the intelligence, creativity, leadership potential, and determination to achieve great things, yet many face barriers that limit exposure to opportunities, resources, and experiences that can shape their future. We exist to help remove those barriers.

Our commitment to equity means intentionally creating pathways for students who have historically been underrepresented, underserved, or overlooked. We strive to ensure that every learner—regardless of socioeconomic status, disability, race, language, neighborhood, or life circumstance—has access to high-quality educational experiences that inspire growth, innovation, and achievement.

Equity is reflected in how we design programs, allocate resources, build partnerships, and engage with communities. We seek to meet students where they are, recognize the strengths they already possess, and provide the support necessary to help them reach their full potential. We believe every child deserves access to technology, mentorship, career exploration, STEM and STEAM opportunities, and environments where they feel valued, respected, and capable of success.

At READ Foundation, equity is more than a principle—it is a responsibility. It is the belief that when we intentionally invest in those with the greatest barriers, we unlock possibilities that benefit entire communities. Our goal is not simply to help students overcome obstacles; it is to create conditions where every child can thrive, lead, innovate, and confidently pursue a future without limits.

**Because every student deserves more than a chance—they deserve a pathway to excellence.**
