$25,000 Goal

At the Melville Family Foundation, we believe every child deserves more than survival—they deserve a better future.

Our work began with a simple desire to give back, but we quickly learned that meaningful change starts with listening. By listening to families, community leaders, educators, and nonprofit partners, we gained a deeper understanding of the barriers facing children and families across North Texas—and the opportunities we have to help create lasting change.

Today, the Melville Family Foundation serves as a catalyst for impact, bringing together resources, relationships, and trusted community partners to create greater access and opportunity across three key areas: Food Security, Academic Excellence, and Economic Stability.

Whether we are helping families access nutritious food, creating educational and career exposure opportunities for students, supporting community-based organizations, or connecting partners who can accomplish more together, our goal is to help turn generosity into meaningful, measurable impact.

But our work is about more than numbers. It is about families feeling supported, students seeing possibilities for their futures, and communities having the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

We believe lasting change happens when we listen first, collaborate intentionally, and work together toward a shared vision for stronger communities.

Together, we can make a difference.

Mission

Every child deserves more than survival—they deserve a better future.

We create options for children and families by addressing food insecurity, expanding academic opportunity, and strengthening economic success, powered by partners who care about the community.

Needs

The Melville Family Foundation focuses on three interconnected areas that help children and families move from meeting immediate needs to building stronger, more sustainable futures: Food Security, Academic Excellence, and Economic Stability.

Food Security

A child’s ability to learn, grow, and thrive begins with having their most basic needs met. Yet many families across North Texas continue to face challenges accessing consistent, nutritious food.

Through partnerships with trusted schools, food banks, and community organizations, the Melville Family Foundation helps connect families to nutritious meals and essential resources. We also mobilize volunteers and funding to strengthen the organizations already working on the front lines of hunger.

Our goal is not only to help fill an empty plate today, but to create greater stability for families tomorrow.

Academic Excellence

We believe a child’s ZIP code should never determine the opportunities available to them.

The Melville Family Foundation works alongside schools, educators, corporations, and community partners to expand access to educational resources, mentorship, career exposure, STEM experiences, and other opportunities that help students imagine—and prepare for—what is possible.

By investing in experiences both inside and outside the classroom, we help young people build confidence, develop new skills, discover career pathways, and see a future filled with possibility.

Economic Stability

For families to thrive long-term, they need more than temporary assistance—they need access to opportunities that can create lasting stability.

The Melville Family Foundation supports initiatives and partnerships that connect individuals and families to resources that strengthen economic mobility, including workforce and career opportunities, financial education, community resources, and pathways toward greater self-sufficiency.

By addressing immediate needs while helping create pathways to long-term opportunity, we are working toward a North Texas where more children and families have the foundation they need to thrive.

Your support helps us turn resources into opportunity, partnerships into progress, and generosity into lasting impact.

Equity Statement

At the Melville Family Foundation, our mission is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive—regardless of their zip code. We focus on three core areas that directly impact the lives of underserved children and families across the Dallas metroplex: economic stability, food security, and academic excellence.

Economic stability: We believe that lasting change begins with stability. That’s why we’re deeply committed to creating pathways toward economic independence for families. Through readiness programs, scholarships, and access to reliable transportation, we empower scholars, parents, and caregivers to build stronger futures. Whether it’s learning how to budget, securing a new job, or simply getting to work on time—we’re here to support every step of the journey.

Food security: No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Our partnerships with Uplift Education, Network of Community Ministries, and the North Texas Food Bank help us ensure that scholars and their families have consistent access to healthy, nutritious meals. Whether it’s through school pantries, weekend food programs, or community distributions, we are dedicated to fighting food insecurity with compassion and consistency.

Academic excellence: We are passionate about education and the doors it opens. From funding scholarships to hosting STEM field trips in partnership with Girl Scouts, to organizing after-school programs and college and career exploration events—everything we do is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire the next generation of leaders. We believe that when children have access to quality education and enrichment opportunities, their potential is limitless.
