Thanks to the fosters and volunteers at Raising The Bar Animal Rescue (RTBAR), we have been able to save dogs that would have otherwise been EUTHANIZED in overcrowded city shelters in the past year. This includes pregnant mothers, abused seniors, hit by car or shot medical cases, and both puppies and adults dogs with upper respiratory infections.
RTBAR is passionate about helping these wonderful dogs that just need a little time and TLC. We CANNOT do it without our donors support, as medical care for sick, injured and pregnant animals is very costly. In order to use our donor funds wisely, RTBAR has partnered with vets and outreach programs to keep costs as low as possible, so donations go farther.
It's impossible to overstate how much we appreciate the support of the community. Our Donors, Fosters and Volunteers are the lifeblood of this organization and because of you innocent lives have been and continue to be saved.
HOW WE GOT STARTED:
Our founder started the rescue after she lost a shelter foster dog to distemper. His name was Beau and he was such a good boy. He was last call for being sick and she had fallen in love with him when volunteering, so she took him home. He needed more care than the shelter could offer him, so she spent almost a week trying to find a rescue. Despite being such a warrior, by the time a rescue stepped up for him, he was too far gone. Raising the BAR (Beau's Animal Rescue) honors Beau by almost exclusively saving dogs at risk of euthanasia due to illness or space at Fort Worth Animal Care and Control and Dallas Animal Services.
We work hard to find really wonderful placement for our animals and adopt them out to the RIGHT home, whether that is in our backyard in Texas, all the way to Washington or even to Canada. Where they go is moot, it's WHO they go to that matters!
