The purpose of the Barksdale PTA is to rally our entire community to raise the critical funds necessary for continuing our tradition of exemplary education. PTA funds provide field trips; author visits; student curriculum; the One Book, One School Challenge; playground accessories; and community outreach.
We are looking to expand our fundraising to include:
- The Barksdale PTA will partner with LovePacs and invite students and their families to fight food insecurity in the community by packing boxes of food together. With the money raised through NTGD, the PTA will purchase the food.
- During Red Ribbon Week, the Barksdale PTA will host activities that inspire and engage students, encouraging them to make good choices and live drug-free.
- Fulfill teacher and staff needs for additional supplies and funding for our students throughout the school year. We value our teachers as they prepare our next generations to enter the world and we will enhance Teacher Appreciation Week activities.
