Our Story & Why We Exist

Founded in 2023, Projects 2 Passports emerged from a collective commitment to address cultural awareness and economic disparities affecting young girls from underserved communities. Our organization was born out of a deep passion for nurturing the potential within these girls and offering them the tools they need to explore, learn, and thrive on a global scale.

P2P was created to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for girls who are often overlooked and underestimated. Our founder, MaCara Santiago, grew up in public housing and foster care, dreaming of a world beyond her zip code, but without access or guidance, those dreams felt out of reach. Years later, she turned that dream into a mission-driven movement. She became a world traveler, nonprofit leader, entrepreneur, and mentor, and made it her mission to ensure that girls from under-resourced communities wouldn’t have to wait until adulthood to see the world, believe in themselves, and build a life they love.

We exist because we believe that where you start should never limit where you can go. Every girl deserves access to global experiences, powerful mentorship, and the chance to see herself as a leader, not someday, but now. Through culturally immersive education, life-changing travel, and a supportive sisterhood, we empower our Global Gems to dream bigger, rise higher, and become changemakers in their communities and beyond.

We believe that every individual deserves the chance to explore, learn, and grow beyond their borders.

Mission

Our mission is to empower young girls from under-resourced communities with the opportunity to cultivate and develop as globally conscious leaders through world education, mentorship, and travel experiences.
