Professional Career Development Services (PCDS) helps with job preparation, career readiness, and skill development. In 2018, we revamped and relaunched PCDS to fit the needs of the Dallas County area to serve teenagers and adults. Our Founder/Executive Director's passion is helping people overcome barriers by equipping them with knowledge, educating them with understanding, teaching life skills, and encouraging as well as motivating to empower people to have a better perspective on life circumstances. We have developed five programs and services to fulfill the needs of our clients. The first program service initiated was our Career Services, which is for resume services, cover letters, and mock interviews with a consultation. We launched 3 more program services in 2019; our Excel Program are workshops focused on job skill building and life skills; Simple Styles is our hair grooming services for haircuts and a partnership with a local barbershop, and Causal Closet Clothing grooming assists those in need with new to gently used business or casual clothes. In January 2020 we launched, Get You There (GYT) Transportation. This is our transportation service. We are launching a virtual skills training program in May 2021; called Be Job Ready Skills training. We are actively involved in partnering with local businesses to support our programs and other local nonprofits to help connect our mission and services to their clients.

Vision

Our vision is to offer services to go over and beyond for our clients. We intend to assist by giving the people we serve the highest chance of success in landing a job and maintaining a job.

Purpose

The primary purpose is to help low-income disadvantaged workers, dislocated workers, relocated workers, and disconnected youth (opportunity youth) overcome job barriers while educating on job preparations. We turn the disadvantages into advantages for better outcomes for jobs.

Mission

Professional Career Development Services (PCDS) Mission Statement is to provide job preparation, career readiness, and skills training resources to opportunity youth and adults in the Dallas County Texas area. Our goal is to encourage and motivate individuals to strive for growth, advancement, and/or continued education. In addition, it is our goal to create community partnerships with local business owners and community leaders who support our mission

Needs

We hope to raise enough funds to help us sustain the cost of operating our eLearning programs, new clothes for clients, cost of DART vouchers, and technology. We will be able to continue to operate and reach more needs in the Dallas County area. Our program services are unique and all connected. We are mobile and work remotely to enable a sense of urgency to our clients. We involve community and surrounding businesses to connect some program services. We want to expand, hire more staff, and connect more with our community.
