PRIDENTON is more than an annual Pride event in Denton. It is the dream to have an 2SLGBTQIA+ community center for Denton. Along with raising funds via the annual PRIDENTON events, we will also be trying to write grants to raise funds for this dream. We hope to provide a space at our annual PRIDENTON events in June for all 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and allies to celebrate the beautiful diversity within our communities. One way PRIDENTON lives this value is to center or highlight a population within our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, annually at our Pride events.

In 2025, we had approximately 80 vendors and 1000+ attendees at our vendor fair, Night OUT. There were about 400+ stunning QTs vibing-out at the Big Pride in Lil' D dance party. We witnessed some milestone experiences at Big Gay Swim Day, some vulnerable moments during Open Mic Night, and created powerful art at the Pride Path chalking event on Denton's Downtown Square. To continue our dedication in showing up for the community, we added new events to this year's Pride: co-working at Stoke, gay bingo, and a rally at Denton City Hall for our People's Proclamation, combatting the Denton Mayor's refusal to acknowledge June as Pride month in Denton.

Mission

PRIDENTON's mission is to uplift, educate, and celebrate the queer and trans community in Denton, Texas.

Needs

Our goal is to raise funds through our annual events to create a community center in Denton for our beloved gender and sexual diverse communities. We envision creating a place where our community members can feel safer, feel seen and have community and celebrated. This North Texas Giving Day, support PRIDENTON with your donation, and help us continue our work creating celebratory spaces for queer and trans Dentonites.

Equity Statement

Since 2017, a group of queer, trans, and People of Color organizers, have been working to bring intentional pride events to Denton. In our values, and all of our events, we have centered the people in our communities who are most affected by oppression and violence, those who are often not considered in other Pride events, including but not limited to folks with accessibility needs, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, trans & gender non-conforming, and folks with limited income.
