PRIDENTON is more than an annual Pride event in Denton. It is the dream to have an LGBTQ+ community center for Denton. Along with raising funds via the annual PRIDENTON events, we will also be trying to write grants to raise funds for this dream. We hope to provide a space at our annual PRIDENTON events in June for all LGBTQ+ folks and Allies to celebrate the beautiful diversity within our communities. One way PRIDENTON lives this value is to center or highlight a population within our LGBTQ+ communities, annually at our Pride events.

In 2023, we had approximately 100 vendors and 800+ attendees at Night OUT on the Square. There were about 400+ stunning QTs vibing-out at the Dance Party. We witnessed some milestone experiences at Big Gay Swim Day, some vulnerable moments during Open Mic Night, and created powerful art at the Pride Path chalking event.

Needs

Equity Statement

For 7 years a group of queer, trans, and People of Color organizers, have been working to bring intentional pride events to Denton. In our values, and all of our events, we have centered the people in our communities who are most affected by oppression and violence, those who are often not considered in other Pride events, including but not limited to folks with accessibility needs, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, trans & gender non-conforming, and folks with limited income.
