For nine years, POETIC has walked alongside girls who have experienced child maltreatment, commercial sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking – girls whose voices, choices, and futures have too often been taken from them.
When a girl arrives at POETIC, she finds something different: safety, consistency, and hope.
By putting evidence-based therapy, case management, educational advocacy, creative expression and economic empowerment all under one roof, she gains the tools to reclaim her narrative and persist forward.
This life-changing support is only possible because of compassionate partners like you.
On North Texas Giving Day, we're unredactingtheparts of these youth’s lives that were once erased.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 and we’re asking for your support to help ensure POETIC's critical services remain available – free of charge– for hundreds of girls across the DFW Metroplex.
More About POETIC
Founded in 2017, POETIC’s mission is to empower youth (ages 12–18+) who have experienced child maltreatment, commercial sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking to find their voices, reclaim their narratives, and move forward.
We do this through comprehensive, evidence-based, and trauma informed programming. Our work is grounded in the belief that every young person deserves equitable access to mental health care, quality education, and economic opportunities, critical tools to address the systemic factors that contribute to revictimization and generational trauma.
POETIC has a nationally-recognized, award-winning 5 Systems Model that provides a holistic approach to meet each youth’s psychological, emotional, academic, social, and occupational needs in a way that is unmatched.

In addition to our evidence-based clinical programming, we provide youth with paid opportunities through our social enterprise, POETICally MADE. Through this program, youth build professional development skills, practice artistic expression, learn graphic design theory, grow critical soft skills and learn financial literacy basics in a live business setting.
To equip girls who have experienced child maltreatment, commercial sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking to find their voices, reclaim their narratives and persist forward.

POETIC serves 200 youth and their families annually. Our in-community aftercare program provides up to 32 hours of on-site programming each week, with staff available for DBT coaching calls 24/7. This intensive and holistic service model is provided free of charge and only made possible through generous support from the community.
