Plano Band Boosters is focused on supporting three main areas of need this Giving Day: replacing Colorguard equipment, providing Alto Saxophones for the Jazz Band and supporting students who need Scholarships for gear and lessons. Plano Band Boosters supports the work of all the students in our band and continues to identify more needs during the year. The Plano Senior High School Band Boosters mission is to make their band experience positive by
- lending moral support to the band students,
- providing them with financial assistance, and
- furthering their musical education.
The Boosters work directly with the band directors on the needs of the band and how best to use Booster funds to support the band, the students, and the Plano Senior High community.
The Plano Senior High School Band has a 75-year legacy of service to our school and community since its beginnings in the early 20th century. With more than 170 students, the Band shares excellence in music performance, representing PSHS, Plano ISD, and the great state of Texas well everywhere they go on the field and concert stage.
This year we welcome a new percussion associate director who will update current traditions and bring excitement to the program. The Band will continue to host the Plano Drumline Competition and the Plano Jazz Invitational. These events bring bands from dozens of schools across the region to compete and grow in their musicianship.
The goal for North Texas Giving Day is $15,000, which will support our needs right now for colorguard, jazz band and scholarships. Additional funds will help fund the costs of dozens of instructors and clinicians that provide ongoing expertise and growth in the students' musical journey throughout the year. We will also be supporting the colorguard and winterguard contests as well as contests for concert season, marching season, jazz and percussion. Our students are honored to represent PISD at these local contests.

The purpose of this association is to support the Plano Senior High School bands and the special function groups of the bands (such as the Color Guard, Drumline and Jazz Band) and to support and assist the band directors/staff as well as the Plano Independent School District in the carrying out of their band-related duties. The Association also exists for the purpose of the promotion and encouragement of band music in the public schools and surrounding community.
