Plano Community Band

The Plano Community Band is celebrating over 40 years of making music. This group of volunteer musicians performs free concerts year round at venues including Haggard Park in Plano and the Eisemann Center in Richardson. Members range in age from their 20s to their 70s and come from all walks of life. Many of the musicians are current or former band directors, yet the band also includes attorneys, IT specialists, engineers, consultants, marketing professionals and more. The group rehearses once a week and plays a variety of music. It is supported by private donations and in part from a grant from the City of Plano. The band is committed to making music accessible to community members of all ages. Through an educational outreach program, it aims for the betterment of the youth in the community. The Band's "Music for Life" program takes volunteer musicians into public schools to help and encourage young musicians to continue making music into adulthood. New this year is PCB2Go, which allows a subset of our membership to perform for events at smaller venues that do not fit our entire ensemble. Through the language of music, the band brings people together.
