Needs
1. Funding our LIVE in-person production of Taming of the Shrew: What happens when you take an antiquated Shakespearean play and give it a fun, 50s, feminist twist? Tune into 'The Taming of The Shrew' in 'Living Black and White'(TM)! Coming March 2024, Plague Mask Players, in collaboration with Pegasus Theatre, Dallas, presents a sitcom-style style spin on this classic. This production will be produced as a part of AT&T Performing Arts Center Elevator Project.
Donations will go towards cast and crew stipends, rehearsal space, costumes, props, sets, script printing, marketing costs, and more. Cost examples: $80 for a costume, $250 for props, $400 for costume cleaning, $1800 for the black and white makeup, $3000 for venue costs.
2. Supporting our Inkubator program for local playwrights: Our latest cycle of Inkubator is currently in progress and will have a staged reading in October. This program was founded to fulfill our mission to support a crucial member of the theatre ecosystem- the playwright! The program is a collaborative space for brand new plays to be developed and refined. Our team partners with a local playwright and helps them make their new work the best version of itself through several stages of discussion and feedback, all leading up to a workshopped in-person staged reading for an audience, complete with a professional director and actors. With your help, we can provide a safe and supportive environment for the next generation of diverse and inclusive voices of North Texas theatre. Costs : $150 for script printing, $300 for a venue, $500 to cover actor all stipends for this staged reading.
3. Operational Expenses: Per month, our expenses include $15 for Zoom, $30 for our website, $75 for insurance, and $100 for our storage unit. Plus additional expenses for workshop spaces and teaching artists.
