People's Impact Network (PIN) stands out as one of the few South Asian clothing-focused non-profits in the U.S. We operate on a "Three Win" philosophy - supporting cultural enrichment, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment.

Fashion to Action: PIN operates as a social enterprise and collects donations of ethnic clothing from the South Asian community across the US, and resells them to a community of over 8,000 members nationwide. We direct funds from our sales into microgrants for local community non-profit changemakers. Leveraging the proceeds from our sales, over the last 3 years, PIN's grant program has disbursed around $150,000 to over 50 nonprofits working on issues such as environmental sustainability, food and housing insecurity, displacement support, economic empowerment, preventative healthcare, interpersonal violence prevention, and support for individuals with disabilities. One garment at a time, we’re turning compassion into action.

Cultural Enrichment to Sustainability: By facilitating the reuse of South Asian and ethnic clothing, PIN champions sustainability while funding programs that make a lasting impact. Through the sales of ethnic clothing, we have diverted over 24,000lbs of textile waste from landfills, and rehomed more than 30000 pieces of clothing. Our youth volunteer program centers sustainability and provides an immersive experience in learning about our rich cultural heritage of textiles and weavers. Our corporate learning and university internship programs introduce service learning about the clothing lifecycle and reducing fast fashion. Our volunteers have received 7 public service awards in 2024 for their impact in the community and logged about 60K hours.

Empowerment to Coalition Building: Since our establishment in 2020, PIN has grown exponentially with sister collaboratives in Kansas and Chicago. We provide economic empowerment through our contractor program that provides employment, community building, and leadership opportunities. In 2026, we will introduce our flagship store and community coalition center that will further showcase the transformative power of collective action.
