With so many new and exciting opportunities ahead of Pegasus Theatre, we ask you to join us on the journey and help fund our transition through these important changes!
We recently announced our first-ever collaboration with the Elevator Project at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in September and our upcoming move to Addison as our new artistic home. In celebration of our 40th year of producing new and original comedies, Pegasus Theatre has made the jump to consolidate all of our shows under one roof. Our first event in Addison will be our 40th Anniversary Celebration, where we will have music and fun and an announcement of our 2025-26 season at The Addison Performing Arts Centre in Addison, TX.
To build up to the move, we have the opportunity to take our show downtown, just a few blocks from where it all started! We will produce a BRAND-NEW Living Black & White® show at the Wyly Theatre as part of the Elevator Project. This initiative brings shows created by local performing arts groups to a brand-new audience that may not have been exposed to some of our local talent and helps to foster new relationships with folks that may never have seen one of our shows before. We hope to inspire a brand-new audience and reconnect with old friends with our signature Living Black & White® show and continue that momentum with both our celebration of 40 years together on October 4 and our 1st new season in Addison.
Our co-production agreement with The Addison Performing Arts Centre will allow Pegasus to produce in all three venues at The Addison Performing Arts Centre, including the Terry Martin Main Stage, Studio Theatre, and Stone Cottage. We are excited to bring our Living Black & White® shows with Harry Hunsacker to the Main Stage, including the return of our New Year’s Eve Celebration show. We hope to bring upwards of 75 performance days a year across all The Addison Performing Arts Centre’s venues. These performances will include our RadioVizion® shows, a return of our new play festival, and a mix of comedic works.
It is both a challenging and exciting time for local theatres, and the Pegasus family needs everyone’s help to make this a success. As part of this move, we hope to reignite that feeling of belonging that we extended to everyone who stepped foot into our original space on Main Street in Deep Ellum. The Addison Performing Arts Centre’s mission to inspire, entertain, and connect the community through the arts aligns beautifully with ours, further supporting the new partnership.
Please consider us on this North Texas Giving Day as we move into what we hope is our forever home and begin a new journey to a bigger and brighter future.
And please keep an eye out for an invitation to join us on October 4 in Addison to celebrate 40 years of being serious about comedy!
Pegasus Theatre produces new and original comedies to inspire and cultivate North Texas artists, and to entertain, enlighten, and engage our community.
As theater-makers, we hold ourselves accountable to practices that will ensure that Pegasus Theatre is an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and actively anti-racist organization, both on-stage and off. Moving forward, you will see the same diversity on the audition team that we hope to see on-stage. We will charge our directors to be "diversity conscious" in their casting. And we will strive to make the audition room a safe space for all, regardless of age, race, color, gender identity, disability, religion, veteran status, national origin, or sexual orientation.
